Cebu City is one of the few cities with its own nutrition figures from the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI). They come from a different survey round from the regional figures, so read them separately.

City of Cebu, 2021 Expanded National Nutrition Survey. The city summary reports that 35.9% of adults are overweight and 14.3% are obese. Both were more common in non-poor households (39.0% overweight, 16.0% obese) than in poor ones (29.4% and 10.9%). The prevalence of high fasting blood glucose among adults was 7.5% (the summary calls it high fasting blood sugar).

Central Visayas, 2023 National Nutrition Survey (adults 20 to 59). Overweight or obesity: 60.0%, against 57.1% for the Philippines. High fasting blood glucose: 6.1%, against 7.5% nationally.

The 2021 city figures and the 2023 regional figures use different survey rounds, so this page does not compare them with each other. The city had 965,332 people in the 2024 Census, 94.3% of them in urban barangays.

Heat at Mactan and the pen labels

PAGASA's climate normals for the Cebu area come from its Mactan International Airport station, in Lapu-Lapu City. Over 1991 to 2020 it recorded an average daily maximum of 31.3 °C across the year. The hottest month there is May, not April, at an average daily maximum of 32.8 °C.

The storage wording in the Philippine package inserts, in brief:

• Ozempic (BR-1326) and Wegovy FlexTouch (BR-1468): after first use, up to 6 weeks, "Store below 30°C or in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C)."
• Mounjaro KwikPen (DR-XY49504): "After first use 30 days. Store unrefrigerated at room temperature below 30 ºC."
• All three: unused pens go in a refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C, and must not be frozen.

Getting a prescription the legal way

Pharmacist dispensing is covered by RA 10918, the Philippine Pharmacy Act. Sec. 33 says: "Prescription medicines may be dispensed only by a duly registered and licensed pharmacist and only with a valid prescription of a physician, dentist, or veterinarian."

Branded medicines such as Mounjaro or Ozempic work differently. A doctor may issue an e-prescription if you qualify, but Obra does not procure or supply them; the pharmacy you choose fills it and you pay that pharmacy.
